The fate of a jazz legend takes us to Prague in 1939 on the eve of the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia. The story of Jiři's passion for music and his unbreakable love for the young singer, Susan, is full of twists and turns, accompanied by well-known jazz songs of the 1930s and 1940s, as we go from the Nazi occupation and  WWII, to the liberation of Czechoslovakia, a brief period of post-war freedom, and the Communist coup in 1948, after which George escapes from Czechoslovakia under dramatic circumstances and emigrates to Canada.
